Clearance Services

Why is it important to conduct screenings and who should be requesting them?

Implementing thorough screenings is a crucial step in maintaining the sanctity and safety of our temples. Such measures help ensure that individuals with a history of abusive behavior are not placed in positions of authority or influence within the community, such as leading classes, engaging in deity worship, managing operations, or guiding congregational activities like kirtans.

Screening also ensures that abusers will not have access to children, or be welcomed to live in an ashram on ISKCON property or similar. Oftentimes abusers will pass from temple to temple, fulfilling different positions or different services, getting support, and repeat offending if they have access to children. This can be avoided if temples and organizers require CPO clearance on devotees they will be engaging in service.

If you are a temple president, organizer (e.g. festival planner or kirtan scheduler), Gurukula principle, or person of influence (like GBC or social media presenter) you should be screening whom you allow to sing, move into the temple, give class, visit your school, host on your social media platform, join any managerial role, etc.

If you are a manager, temple president, CPT member, or hold a similar role, and you want to ensure that devotees serving in your community have no recorded concerns with the Child Protection Office, you may request, where appropriate, that they provide CPO clearance before engaging in any service. Examples of such services include coming in contact with children at the temple, giving a class at the center, moving into the temple, volunteering at the kids’ tent, or leading kirtan.

To obtain clearance, devotees need to fill out the Clearance Form on this website, where they will provide their personal data as well as your full legal and devotional names, email address, and place of service. Please ensure they have the correct information regarding your details before filling out the form.

If you have been asked or required to provide CPO clearance by your local CPT, Temple President, organizer, or similar, please fill out the Clearance Form (). The form requests both your personal data and the information of the manager who has asked you for the clearance. We recommend requesting the required data from the manager in advance.

Once you have completed the form, you will receive an email confirmation that the form has been submitted, along with the data you provided which will be cross-referenced against our database.
