Safe touch programs are presented all over the world as part of school curricula. These programs are designed and tailored for the particular age group they are aimed at. This is “safety education,” not sex education. Just as adults teach children about various safety issues, such as water safety at the beach or road safety when crossing streets, it is our responsibility to teach children which parts of their body are “no-go” areas. No child is too young to learn this. Doing so also gives them the confidence to tell a trusted adult if someone attempts to touch them inappropriately. It is better to be safe than sorry!
